What is Wordle?

Wordle is a fantastic word puzzle game where you have to correctly guess a valid 5-letter word in only 6 tries. Initially developed by Josh Wardle (then acquired by The New York Times), Wordle became a global phenomenon. The game keeps track of the number of words the player has found and the player's score each day. Wordle is a fun and challenging way to improve vocabulary and problem-solving skills. A new puzzle is released at midnight local time, and everyone around the world solves the same word each day.

The rules are simple: every guess must be a valid five-letter word, and after each one the tiles change color to show how close you are. Solve the puzzle and your streak grows; miss all six tries and the answer is revealed. Wordle also tracks your statistics — games played, win percentage, current and longest streak, and your guess distribution — and offers a Hard Mode that forces you to reuse every hint you've uncovered. Since the game moved to The New York Times, extras like WordleBot (an analysis tool that grades your play) and an archive of past puzzles have been added for Games subscribers.
